ARISTOTLE

aristotle

384 BCE - 322 BCE

Aristotle was an Ancient Greek philosopher. Born in 384 BCE, he is one one of the most influential philosophers in the world. When he was 18, he moved to Athens and joined Plato's Academy. He stayed in Athens until around 348 BCE before moving away. Plato and Aristotle disagreed in their beliefs. Plato believed that every thing has an immutable ideal form already in your mind that different instances of that object are drawn from, while Aristotle believed that material things have both an object of matter and an ideal form, but the object itself draws from neither. After he left Athens, Aristotle was hired to be the tutor of Alexander the Great, who eventually conquered the Persian Empire.
